Born October 4, 1861, in Canton, cutting York, Frederic Remington was one of the last major(ip) artists to eternize the swiftly fading Wild West as an illustrator and painter. In 1881 he left to wander the west. For a time, he worked as a cowboy, only if he left in 1886 to airfield at the Art Students League in New York. However, he still continued to visit the West.
